You'd be surprised Den - I have broken 2 bones in my wrist, seriously blacked an eye, broken a toe, suffered bad scalds - all whilst inebriated (different occasions I must add) - and hardly felt a thing until the next morning.
When I broke my ankle it was an open fracture and my foot was facing the wrong way. I still don't remember a thing and the paramedics only had to give my morphine when they straightened the foot. Apparently I spent the whole way to the hospital in the ambulance telling the paramedic how lovely he was!
Jan I know what you mean - when I am knocked out at the Dentist for 'more than a check-up' - I have been told I won't shut up talking - once when I was having a tooth out - apparently I kept insisting on taking the tooth home with me. The next day I found it in my bag - yuk, I thought what a bloody cheek, sending me home with a rotton tooth {:o)
When I was in labour I hallucinated on the pethedine......apparently all I wanted was a bowl of trifle.....the wig a nurse was apparently wearing.....and my mother-in-law to p!ss off......
i knew a guy who fell over. When he stood up he carried on until he said he felt like sweat was running down his wrist. when he turned around and asked someone to look they found that he'd had split all the skin on his arm and the flash had peeled all the way down leaving all his bones and muscles exposed.
He didnt feel a thing, but did start to get concerned when he was grabbed and heard the guy he was with shouting for someone to ring 999.
I had a similar experience with the pethadine, craft - I thought I was stuck to the ceiling - I kept shouting get me off this f....king ceiling and then I was sick all over Mr. Den..............happy days
