My pet tortoise has started to eat the bread I put out for the birds... Will this do her any harm?? She even turns her nose up at the salad I give her!

Wholemeal bread or grain with bran is ok, but no butter or cheese!! Tortoises can suffer from liver trouble if they eat saturated fats, and too much protein as it can cause them serious problems. When mine was fussy I fed her a specialist tortoise food which came in pellet form. This site may help you.

Thanks... I've seen her eat a load of diferent things over the years that I've had her but must admit she'd never tried bread before!! The sparrows were most disappointed lol

no it is not a good idea to feed tortoises bread or pellets,
