Emails disappeared

All my husbands emails in inbox has just disappeared - he did not delete them and they are not in deleted items. Any ideas ?

Does he have any subfolders? Perhaps he's accidentally moved them in there?

It would be handy if you could tell us what email package he is using. Outlook, Outlook Express, hotmail etc.

Ok. Has he accidentally dragged and dropped them onto a folder on his PC? Try searching for .eml files.

It is pretty odd, as the default if you drag and drop a message in Outlook Express is to copy rather than move.

Has anyone been on his PC and accidentally done this and too shy to own up? Any kids in the house?

does the send and receive still work and is it still getting new emails (try sending a mail to yourself)

Hope he's not covering his tracks to hide something from you.
Emails have suddenly disappeared for me occasionally when I click on them but never has the whole inbox gone.

just a thought...On the ile menu, click on Switch Identity, if you get more than one option, try the other identities.
