I'm due to pull an emergency holiday on Saturday, please can someone give me a good excuse, it' can't be food poisoning/a death

Food poisoning is generally quite believable - bosses tend to accept the most 'normal' stories as fact.

What about saying that you've woken up and can hardly lift your head of the pillow beacuse of a dizzy spell, and a racing pulse.  Things like this can happen to the best of us for no apparent reason.....

Gastronenteritis is always a good one - nice medical word!

Could you say that a relative is ill etc. My dad got out of going to a work do by saying I'd had an asthma attack. Any sickly relatives in your family?!

why dont you have a flood or a power cut or a burglary or a car crash. Years ago i had a stray dog that wouldnt get out of my car, nobody belived me, but i swear it was true.

How about saying you've a touch of sunstroke? If you catch it quick enough, it clears up in about 24 hours after you rest and drink loads of water.

Symptoms can include, high temperature, severe headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, and confusion/blurred vision.

It's actually very serious and can kill the elderly and young children.  But it's preventable and treatable !

oh no dont say food poisoning coz with most employers they make u do a poo test and its the most discusting thing in the world

ew gingerflaps... where do you work? Since leaving nursing in the early 80s, I've worked in offices most of my life and have never once been asked for a stool sample, even when I have been off work with genuine food poisoning.
