Hi everyone, I have a problem at work where by everyone is so miserable at the moment. Things are hard for us all at the moment, (eg no pay rise, staff cut backs etc) but we are all in the same boat. Everyone snaps at everyone for no reason and just moans about everthing and everyone. If anything goes wrong its all about who to blame. Its no fun anymore. When I first started everybody looked out for everybody and no nobody seems to care. To make it worse the close people i sit with always have some put down or sharp comment whenever i mention anything it makes me feel as though 'why bother'. (ie, if i say, did you watch X&Y, they would reply with 'oh you dont watch that do you' etc etc). If i say the sky is blue, they would argue its pink just to get attention or to have another pointless conversation. I am so fed up being in such an unhappy place so have tried to remove myself by just keeping myself to myself this week, but thats not fun either. Any ideas??

Probably best to keep to yourself - do the job you have to do, read a boook or magazine in your breaks, go outside for a cigarette break (especially if you don't smoke).
If anyone wants to talk to you they will, but at the end of the day, you go there for the wage not the social life.
As far as is allowed chat to people on your mobile / text them, but if the rest of them want to play silly b's you don't need them bringing you down as well.
