deleting a program/application
5 Answers
the uninstall feature doesnt work for the program/application because the program got really messed up, and the add/remove programs option in control panel doesnt register the program as there because of the same reason (but it is there), also all the restore points on my computer were deleted, so here's my question; are the any other ways to delete/uninstall a program? i was thinking, do something with command prompt but i wouldnt know what. any help?

Apart from the obvious "program files" there's possibly also:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data"
In place of "Administrator" might be also your log on name.
Also there'll be registry entries and, less commmonly, files in the windows\system32 folder.
A MUCH easier option is to reinstall the program and then uninstall. That way, as you install, you're leaving clear instructions of what's going where and the uninstall part of the program should work OK.

That just happened to me. I would try and install the same program and uninstall. hopefully it will overwrite the old one and recorded in the add/remove, then remove it, might work.
Didnt work for me....
I have to reset the whole pc, all my restore point had been deleted. There was an error with the program and effected the whole pc.
