Neither of us eat lamb. Can I use chicken instead of lamb in these \"do it yourself\" kebabs? if so would you marinate the chicken in something other than the ground cumin with garlic??

Cheers in advance

Try a site for Chicken Kebab recipes , as garlic and cumin
is very strong for chicken .
Personally, I find garlic and cumin perfect for chicken, but I am a bit of a cumin-freak and will put it on anything!! Chicken is a fabulous meat which can withstand many strong flavours. Enjoy!
i make kebabs a lot and just invent any old marinade that i fancy, one i use a lot is a mix of olive oil, mustard salt pepper mixed herbs and garlic.

mix tomato puree with honey, mustard and soy sauce

another is mix some natural yoghurt with tikka massala paste

and marinade the chicken for at least an hour longer if you can then thread on to skewers with veggies if you like.

warm pittas stuff with salad/dip (like raita/tzatiki/galric mayo) and away you go
