How do I stop my apples from having creepy crawlies inside them? It is a very new and small apple tree and this year is the first year it has had apples. But they all had worms(?) inside the core with a pathway eaten to the outside. I don't fancy harsh chemicals.

When the tree is dormant spray all over with a winter wash or tar oil spray to kill the critters before the spring.
You should also place grease bands round the trunks, usually in the Autumn which is actually about now.
