How can I get rid of this

I have noticed I have quite alot of moss on my soil where my flowers are growing so I am wondering should I remove this does it hurt plants growing with it also please can anyone rell me how to get rid of it and to prevent it happening again if this s possible please.

It would seem as though you have a heavy soil which creates a surface compacted enough to encourage moss.
Moss loves compacted soil, little light and surface moisture to thrive.The soil is probably lacking in body so introduce mature compost, if the soil is virtually stone free chuck some gravel on the offending areas(waterworn not crushed!!) as this will also help to open up the soil and deter the moss.
