Further to my previous posting on 4th August about the red road markings at roundabouts, you asked for a link to them as you had never come across them.
If you go to Google Earth and enter in YO8 8LY it will take you to the roundabout I have been on about. You can clearly see the red-marked section and even 2 cars on it, who shouldn't be there.
This is the roundabout that Selby Council (or North Yorkshire, whoever is responsible) have now done away with the red tarmac and made it into a normal roundabout.
This is what prompted my previous posting, where I asked if local authorities are now realising the potential danger
of this type of roundabout.

That's weird. I don't knwo how road planners get away with thinhs that are inevitably going to confuse the masses. Is the red section raised? Otherwise, I can't see a problem with driving there. It's not a hatched area. Maybe it's a strategically-placed bus lane!

No, the red section is not raised, and there are no signs instructing you not to drive on it. However, it implies that it should not be driven over because of the red colour, and as I have been saying for ages, it is a potential cause of confusion and danger.
By the way, there are a number of this type of roundabout, not only here in North Yorkshire, but also in West Yorkshire where I used to live
I believe the red section is for the 'tail end' of large articulated vehicles. Other users should use the outer circle only.
If you goto BD4 7BG on Google Earth and find your way to the Bolling Road/Mill Lane X-roads (and roundabout) and look at the street view photo you will also see another red inner section to roundabout.
