how much electricity does a laptop use per day

the main use of electricity in a laptop is the screen, so a laptop with a 12" screen will use a lot less than one with a 17" screen. it will also make a difference what the latop is being used for, if it heavy duty stuff then the CPU will go upto full power mode and the fan will be on a lot more, increasing the power use.
a very rough average is about 80watts of power, so if you were running it 24hrs a day about 700KWh per year, if your electricity is 12p per KWh then thats about £84 a year, so 23p a day (remember I've worked this on a rough average power use and assuming the laptop is on and in use 24hrs a day)
