Scandalously close to a real smoothie ... "Won't you come into the garden? I would like my roses to see you".
Right up there with Chandler's "Pull up a cloud and sit down, Angel."

Have run off the Speccie but not even looked at it as yet, and will be out tonight. You are so right Doc H H. I tried for a long while to live frugally and not change the pounds from my pension etc. into euros, in the vain hope that the exchange rates would improve. Of course, eventually I had to 'bite the bullet' and came off worse for waiting. Now I am trying to sell up here and the only bright spark on the horizon is that should I actually find a buyer (highly unlikely) I won't need to pay capital gains tax as I can only expect to get back what I originally paid 5 years ago , BUT I will gain by changing my euros back into more pounds than I started with, if you follow me.
I get schizophrenic these days over whether I'd prefer the exchange rate to move in the pound's favour (to make the most of my pension) or the euro's, especially just now as there is a slim chance that I have a prospective purchaser. So, yes, I am a currency speculator of sorts.
