We have a dead bird behind our gas fire. Huge flies are coming from beneath the fire and it would be a major job to take the fire off.
What can I do to kill the flies whilst they are in there before they crawl out into the room?
Or does anyone know how long this will go on for?????
Martin.

If you dont want to take the fire off, then I think you are best to put up with the flies. The maggots are doing what is expected of them and cleaning the carcass which would otherwise stink to high heaven. You may have to put up with it for a couple of weeks or so.
