I have recently downloaded the latest Apple itunes software (V9) and now itunes will not work when a CD is in the drive bay on my laptop. A box says iItunes has stopped working and will close. So I am unable to transfer my CD library - a feature which is supposed to be in v9. I have uninstalled the programme and reinstalled it with the same fault. I have searched the Apple website but no help there. I am also unable to run diagnostic programme. I have read that this version of software is causing many problems - here is another one!

What do you mean by that? You mean ripping your CDs, which has been part of iTunes from day one, or something specific to iTunes 9?

Also, you don't mention what OS you're using. Vista?

Sorry to confuse. I am running Vista Home Premium SP1, I tunes v9.0.0.70. I know ripping CDs to I tunes is not a new feature but they make a big thing about in the Apple adverts for version 9. The trouble with "my" fault is that some music CDs work fine whilst others cause iTunes to stop working and close. Media CDs are not a problem. I have run diagnostic checks with the CDs that work but cannot run them with the CDs that cause Itunes to fail. Any ideas?
Not really sure sorry, if you've done the who reinstall thing.

Wait for an update and use something else?
