daughter who swears in her sleep

my daughter has always spoke in her sleep but now she shouts ourt swearing and argueing with herself her language is really bad. It has got to the point that she even hits herself in her sleep what causes people to do this
brainwave patterns
or worry in day to day life??

Is she bordering on adolescence? i've always talked in my sleep, and my parents say that when i was about 13 i used to hurl abuse in the middle of the night. It happened a few times, i never hit myself though. But the swearing stopped as i got older. I think its because of hormones raging, and like you say day to day worries. I shouldn't worry about it. She'l grow out of it.

If she is hurting herself, does she wake?
My little sis went through a terrible phase of violent episodes in her sleep. She wouldnt remember anything of it the next day, even though she smashed her face on the walls, even the radiator one night.
She had tests done at sleep clinic at hospital and was told she had a type of epilepsy though it only lasted a few months. She was about 15

My sister used to shout a lot in her sleep, and on occasion I do, not so long ago, I jumped up shouted out F*ckit and went back to sleep lol
