Changing electrical sockets

In my kitchen there is a space for a dishwasher and at the wall there is the socket where you would plug it in. The socket that you switch it on from is above the worktop. I plan to put a cupboard in this space instead so could I swap the sockets around? I\'d rather not have a live socket at the back of a (built-in) cupboard.

Shouldn't be a problem Monty............ if the cable to the lower socket is buried, then disconnect each end. It wouldn't be a bad idea to mark each end as "disused" or something similar to avoid possible confusion in the future.

Thanks Builder. So if I swapped them round, would I be able to use the socket at the top as a 'normal' one or would it not be deep enough/not have the right connections. Sorry to be a bit thick!

Not being able to see it makes it a difficult to be certain, but, yes, usually no problem. Just make double sure you've got your connections right :o)
