where to go ?
4 Answers
I would like to get away to somewhere warm in the first week in February. I have only started going abroad this year, and i am just back from a med cruise, which i thoroughly enjoyed. Don't want to do a cruise in February though. Can anyone help with some ideas please. Thanks in advance

You're going to have to travel further south. Unless you've got the funds for long haul flights (e.g. to Oz), that almost certainly means Africa.
The most popular destination at that time of the year is definitely the Canary Islands. They're geographically African (lying off the southern coast of Morocco) but politically and culturally European. (The Canaries are Spanish territory and within the EU, although their special tax status means that they count as 'non-EU' when bring back booze and ciggies).
The average February daytime temperature in Las Palmas is 22C, falling to 14C overnight. There are an average of 5 rainy days during the month. The only real problem that some people experience with the February weather in the Canaries is that it's sometimes rather windy.

It should be pleasant in Agadir, Morocco, which is more or less opposite the Canaries. Egyptian resorts like Sharm will also be mild (take a jumper for the evenings, though). Further afield, Florida has lots to offer; Dubai doesn't have much but will be warm.
Plus in the southern hemisphere it's summer, if you fancy going long-haul - Kenya is probably closest, South Africa most interesting.
