What does everyone think of the programme? I am usually glued to the TV when it's on, but I've only watched a couple of programmes this week. Where is John Torode, does anyone know and is he coming back?
The problem is,the prize in this competition is to work as a chef in John Torode's restaurant.
So he cannot appear as a judge as it would be a conflict of interest.
I have no doubt that he will rejoin his pal in future Masterchef's.
Yes peri you are right.
According to Tiscali's TV page he also judged last years Professional Masterchef.
Quite why John Torode didn't judge that one either is beyoned me,maybe he had other comittments?
I like Michel Roux, but he hasn;t got he same chemistry between him and Greg Wallace as John Torode has.
BTW,I always thought that John Torode looked "shagged out" in many of the programmes,or is it just me? LOL
I agree Mr V - John and Greg are a tried and tested partnership - although I do like Michel Roux - his passion for food comes across so well. Have never noticed that myself - but nothing new in that lol
Thank you Mr V, I do hope John comes back (I understand why he cannot be a judge). I also like Michel Roux, but it's not the same without JD, he and Greg have such a good rapport. No, it's not just you Mr V, I always thought he looked worn out!
I think that it's John's rather........dissipated eyes that make him look tired! And I agree with all of you - it's not the same Masterchef without him, although I think that Michele Roux is very interesting in his judging role.
I'm just surprised how nervous some of these so called professional chefs are. I'm not sure I'd want to eat someone's food who wasn't that confident in his cooking.
Michel Roux jr judged the last Professional Master Chef and the winner actually went to work in his restaurant, so I don't see where there would be a conflict of interest if the winner of this series went to work for John.
I agree with other ABs' that our "ingredients expert" should be replaced by John and keep Michel.
