4 week trip in summer holiday
6 Answers
I am training to be a primary school teacher and am thinking about going to America for a month in the summer following my NQT year. How practical would this be, I am aware teachers don't really have 6 weeks off due to planning etc and am concerned the school would frown upon me doing this. It won't be for another 3 years anyway but any advice would be appreciated!

The rest of the time they should be in doing lesson plans etc for the next academic year (but usually aren't...), however as I said, schools might be different.
I've worked in schools. Most are empty bar the premises staff for the duration of the summer holidays. The teaching staff put in their appearance a few days before the start of term telling us all about the recent long holiday in France or Spain or wherever they've been.
Just do it - you wouldn't be on your own.
