Lady on ladder between ads this weekend?

What is happening this weekend? Between ads a lady appears fleetingly peering through a window on an upper floor. It does not seem to be connected with anything else although husband says the woman is reminiscent of 'Ugly Betty' without the glasses. Any ideas or are we somehow being subjected to some subliminal (and therefore illegal?) advertising ploy? I am based in the Scottish Border region if that makes any difference.

It was a clip of Maddy (played by Caroline Quentin) from Jonathan Creek, though the episode they were showing later that night didn't feature her since she had left the series at that point...
