me again l am on prempak hrt this is 1 tablet for 14 days then 2 tablets for the remainder they give me a period l am 56 years old my doctor reckons that woman over 55 should be over the worst l want to stop taking my hrt but am a bit afraid please can an

What do you dislike the most the HRT or the Period.? When I was 55 I took an HRT tablet that didn't give me a period. Most women over 55 should not have a bleed naturaly. If you stop you HRT altogether, you will most like find that the bleeding will stop as well.

I don't think it's a real period, probably a withdrawal bleed like when you're on contraceptive pill.

If you have any concerns, speak to your doctor. Tell them your concerns, why you want to continue/stop taking it etc.

I took the HRT tablets until I was 60, they made me feel good, I slept well, the only drawback was I put on half a stone. As soon as I stopped them the sweats came back, I was lethargic, could only sleep 4 or 5 hours a nigh, night sweats. It took nearly two years for my body to adjust......
