My husband and I are trying for a baby and have been doing so since end of June. I came off the pill as soon as we started trying but had been on it for nearly 15 yrs. I know everyone is different and that it can take up to a year in perfectly normaly circumstances but just wanted to do a straw poll of how long it took everyone before they concieved?
It took me around 4 months with first and this time round happened when I had stopped trying and for some unknown reason ovulated over a week later than usual and I was caught out. Are you ovulating and having periods? If not then its just a case of waiting for your body to go back to normal. Try not to stress over it as this makes it a whole lot worse and I know this as it is what I was like! Both times with me I fell on when we had decided not to 'try' any more, relaxing about the whole thing makes so much difference.
On pill for 3 years, came off and took two and a half years to get pregnant with first, 2nd born 13 months later! Went for fertility investigations after a year and a half of trying (maybe trying too hard, apparantly having sex about 40 times a month doesn't help you concieve faster)- they declared everything ok a year later, pregnant the next month. I think stress had a lot to do with it.
Thanks for all your answers! I'm just so excited and an impatient person anyway. Not feeling stressed and husband is being great about it all so no pressure. I'll keep you posted!
