Annoying adverts

I keep getting annoying audio adverts coming onto my computer.There is no title bar to open a window and then close it down.It just runs until it ends.The only way I have found to stop them is to close down the computer and then restart it to continue.Is there any way I can close them down or,even better,stop them coming through.

get a good firewall - there are plenty of free ones out there - look on download.com

and also download and run http://www.malwarebytes.org/ free version - this may deal with your problem
