Anesthatist? didn't want to give me a General because I was a bit 'chesty' so talked me into an epidural. What a horrible frightening feeling that is, paralysed from waist down and sort of conscious!! They erect a screen on your chest so that you cannot see down the operating table, but I could see the reflection in the ceiling light - not a pretty site!! I got full feeling back about 5 hours later, but made a quicker recovery than the ladies who were cut. As soon as I got in the Recovery Ward I had a cup of coffee, and 2 hours later I had a 3 course lunch! Ladies who were cut could not eat for 24hrs! The food was diabolical by the way!! Came home Thursday and taking things VERY slowly.
