cats & litter trays

I have a cat who used to use his tray but now he does not. He does his mess, but when he wees he uses it by our front door. I have got him another tray and put it by the door. He used it a while but now he is not doing it yet again. So the cat has 2 trays and does not use either. I have tried bying different types of cat litter, nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions?

in order to stop him returning to places to pee spray the area with biological washing powder diluted into a plant spray. this will counteract his scent. Do not use other cleaning products as many of these contain amonia and you don't need anymore of that around!!!! lol

Has he been neutered? if not he will be scent marking and it will be more difficult to stop him.

Try praising him with tit bits when he gets it right. Is he not able to go outside?

Yes he has been neutered, and no we do not let him outside we live very near to a main, very busy road. Thanks for the reply I will try the bioligical powder thing.
