Gift idea to show support and care!!

Hi does ANYONE know of a gift I could by my friend to show I care about him and am always here to support him.
He is currently going through a awful divorce, hardly sees his kids and has a few other problems besides!!
I don't want to go over the top or send anything to put pressure on him ( we both want to be more than friends but can't at the moment because of circumstance).
I was thinking maybe a book of support or encouragement but am not sure of any good ones.
Any ideas would be appreciated- I genuinely want to help this guy- he is doing so well but can't see it- (I personally would have cracked up by now)!! I just want to help him all I can even if it has to be from a distance!

I would say just be there for him Gymbunny, you can't buy friendship, just be there when he needs a friend then see what devolops from there

Why don't you just send him a humourous card, and just let him know that you're thinking of him, and you hope he is doing well. He may even be waiting for you to make the approach.

Erm... It's unlikely but I guess if my best mate was to divorce his Mrs I'd probably just get him drunk/stoned and talk about rubbish films with him and generally make him laugh....It's what I do when he's depressed at any rate. Sometimes the best thing is to just carry on as normal when everything else around a person is going to hell in a handbasket and give hugs.

I agree with vibra....I would no way get involved with a man who is going through a divorce,let alone a difficult divorce!!!
Just be a friend for him and if things develop further when all is settled.............

What about one of those digital photo frames so he can upload pictures of his kids. It would let him see lots of images of them plus show that you accept them and support him as a parent.
