Travel to Cuba from the USA for a UK citizen

Is it possible to travel, as a UK citizen, on any of the direct charter flights between the USA and Cuba? If so, how are bookings made, and how much is a return flight MIA - HAV, which takes a mere 35 minutes?

Looks like it's not easy - you need special permission from the US government to do so and have to be travelling for prescribed reasons (being a tourist isn't one of them). I would guess you also need a US visa and won't be able to use the VWP/ESTA route - I doubt if the charter companies involved are registered, and in any case you won't be a tourist..
