How long after having kittens does a cat come on heat again? How long is gestation?

Queens don't actually come on heat in the same way dogs do. They have multiple oestrous cycles each year. They are seasonally polyoestrus and usually cycle from feb to sept. Ovulation though is induced only by mating. Anyway thats neither here nor there, usually queens will return to oestrus at intervals of 14-21 days. However after all that usually they will return to oestrus within 6 - 10 days after having kittens, quite often sooner. You should find though that she should stay in with the babies for a while.
