For the last few months my Gas Central heating (back boiler, behind gas fire) has been heating water only in the immersion heater tank. I have recently switched to Heating and water to try out the system for Winter.
the heating works OK but it no longer heats the hot water to the tank, either in Hot water only mode or heating and water mode.
No cold spots in any of the radiators,so presumably no airlocks.
Could there be an airlock in the hot water tank ?
Any thoughts on this problem.
Thanks.

Not knowing what system you have installed, it's difficult to give an definite answer. If you have the common "Y" plan pipe layout you probably have a problem with the 3 way motorized valve. It's this valve that directs the water to the either the tank, heating circuit, or both.
