I doubt you will get anyone to agree on what is the \"best\" of anything.

Most you can hope for are a list of good \"brands\" and choose one from one of them.

I have 2 Panasonic DVD recorders, and I am very happy with them, but others may say Sony, still
others may say Toshiba or Samsung.

It also depends how much you want to spend, and if you want a hard disk in it as well.

Before I got Sky+ I used my Panasonic with no problems, but I now find Sky+ far superior and faster.
