After seeing people bowing and scraping to these dignitaries, doesn't it make a change for someone to stand by their convictions and openly to their face, give them the snub they deserve?

The reasons for the Iraq war were a complete lie from the beginning. The blame is Bush and Cheney's, but Blair is also tarnished.

For soldiers to die for spurious reasons is tragic, but if you join the armed forces then the possibility that you may be killed is one you have to accept. Most wars are the result of failure.

Blairs subserviance to Bush was unfortunately not the final chapter. Now that he has gone our troops in Afghanistan have increased from about 4000 troops up to the present level of 9000. It is now proposed another 500 will go there in the coming weeks.

Maybe he is not toally culpable. If you add the like of General Dannet the heads of the military seem to be also involved. Our swashbuckling Army heads need to be told not every war is winnable and the deaths is not a price worth paying.

When you join the British armed forces, regardless of the initial reason, you volunteer to kill or be killed for your country.

This lad, and all the others weren't killed, wounded or maimed for this country, but for the ego's of Bush and Blair.

If, as the Politicians say, to stop terrorism reaching this country, then we would be in Pakistan, not Afghanistan.

Mr Brierley was right, Blair has the Blood of all the dead on his hands, and if there was any justice, he'd be tried as a war criminal.

Surely the actions of a grief stricken father could never sully the memory of a lad who died on duty?

You say on this occasion his mouth should have remained well and truly shut.

I must disagree with you, It is on occasions such as this that the public should speak out, perhaps then these politicians might wake up and take notice of the public's feelings.

More so in Mr Brierley's case he lost a son, what greater reason than that, to speak out anywhere he chooses.
