inyured baby deer
5 Answers
last week i found an injured deer down a country lane, it was running about making noises with badly injured jaw/mouth area. I couldnt just drive off & forget it so i stopped & rang an RSPCA number that i already had in my phone as i rescued a cat from them a few months ago, the person on the phone made me feel like i had wrong number and gave me another number, that person couldnt help or diddnt want to so i rang a friend who lived near by and she gave me number of local vet, they couldnt help and gave me a mobile number of a man who deals with deer on the road so i rang him but he was busy with two deer else where...what could i do? i texted that man with details of where the deer was and politly asked if he had time could he see to it. He rang me later and apoligized for not being able to help but wasnt interested in my story, kept talking over me and telling me that his dogs will be well fed now and all about venison......thats it poor little deer still out there, hope someone found it and dealt with it. My question is, did i do the right thing or who does help with that sort of thing because its clearly not the RSPCA !!!

I found an injured cat near the road a couple of years ago, obviously the victim of a road accident, and rang the RSPCA, their nearest contact was miles away, they siad they couldn't get there the same day!! I took the cat to the nearest vet, they wouldn't treat it without funding, so I paid, never did find out who the cat belonged to! but happily it did recover and was rehomed! I'm afraid the RSPCA are not as readily accessible as they would have us believe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................................welsh
