Does anyone know how to rescue a fairly badly burned pan ? I left the pan simmering and forgot about it, and i dont want to throw it out unless i have to. Someone suggested bicarb of soda but, how much and what do i do with it ?
is it non-stick?
soak for 24 hours if it is.
If a metal pan, I put salt liberally sprayed, on the bottom and leave again for 24hours then wash as normal with a scourer and elbow grease.
I burnt mine too this year. I doubled up on a plum jam recipe and it was like Vesuvious erupting. I took an old knfe and scraped the worst off, then I kept leaving it to soak in a dishwasher tablet and concentrated the scrubbing on a small area at a time. It took a few days but it's fine now. Note to self - don't double the recipe!
