Hello EV N&C Wine Clubbers,
Hope you have all been busy little ones doing this weeks EV. Hopefully not celebrating in the modern way indicated by 44 across, but rather by opening a bottle of something!

I enjoyed doing that one. Ringer and Devadolly, though I got bogged down towards the end, most of it was actually easier than it looked. Ringer, that sounds fun - which G & S are you doing?

I ahve not looked at an EV for a few weeks but I did pick this one up and thought I would give it a go. I have been doing the Inquisitor. That one seems to have got quite a bit "harder" recently.
I found this EV somewhat hard going at first, but when I realised what was missing things began to fall into place, allowing me to get the missing letters, which helped to solve outstanding clues. Maybe that was a little back to front! Never mind.
I liked the way 14ac and 40ac were constructed, although the words were pretty obvious.
Which three cells had to be joined was not immediately apparent, but I then spotted an answer and hey presto it gives the required pattern.
I enjoyed it a lot. I must have a go at the next one.

what a good crossword. I really enjoyed it, especially the last instruction, which took me a little while to get. Fortunately I managed to get it all sorted out before we went out to a long relaxed lunch. ( when we came home I couuldn't have seen the squares let alone the questions!. Tomorrow we are off to The States Mass. and S. Vermont. I hope The S.T. is available.... DoctorB can you help with advice on how you get your crossword... ?on line or do you buy the paper? See you all in a couple of weeks1
That's great Devadolly,
Just a few days to go before the next challenge!
We are looking forward to our holiday as much as you and Himself are looking forward to yours. After Christiana's post we will definitely do the Petra trip no matter how time demanding it is and also go beyond the limits the guides take us! Spotted an advert for an Amazonian trip in the Telegraph this week, are you on one of those?
Ciao ciao

I didn't see the bit in the Telegraph Doc, it was the visit to Devil's Island that caught the imagination then the thought of a trip round the opera house in Manaus that clinched it. Nice civilised, comfy ship with all mod cons finished the argument! Were supposed to be going to Aquaba/Red Sea/ St Catherine's Monastry/Petra etc about 4 years ago but there were bombs and assassinations in the area and the trip was pulled, most disappointed and we just haven't got round to repeating it, believe it is fantastic.
