Does the breed have any 'problems' or are they normally quite a healthy breed?

I am hoping to get two Birman kittens next year - I love them - they are just stunning looking cats.... and I love long haired cats....

But I was wondering if anyone here knows or has had one.. What is their nature like? Any experience you have would be lovely to know
Thanks

Aaah thanks Red.. thats melted my heart!!! they are so beautiful!!!

I know I should go for a moggie - or rescue some kittens.. but I just adore this breed.... I will look at rescue centres first and if they dont have a pair of long haired moggie kittens at the time I may go for these I think!!!

They are truly scrumptious Nosha!!

Secretly, I hope the rescue centres have a couple of long haired kittens for rescue though!!

Good luck. x
A kitten which, together with it's Mum, whichwas abandoned on the grass verge on the road outside our house. She has now been adopted by my son after spending 6 months with us. My cat hates her!! She has lovely long black hair and hates being groomed.

She's beautiful Lofty!!!! Though its hard to tell where cat ends and toy dog begins!!!!

haha

I do love the long haired cats...!!

Our 'late' Saff Bag was like the Beast of Bodmin!!! He was HUGE... giant paws... Had to brush him and his brother all the time but Saff was like an old tramp..... and always had bits of matted hair that I had to try to tease out and gently cut with scissors while he slept!!! ha ha

I am so going to get me two more kittens next yeat.. I cant wait (though I know its bound to be a bit stressful with the introductions to Harvey!!)
I would love another kitten (or 2), but Alice, our cat is absolutely distraught if another cat comes into the house. She spends her life with me and I don't want to risk her leaving home. I've never had any trouble like this with any other cats and I had 4 at one time.
