I work near a branch of EAT ...a chain of food shops in London.
They sell sandwiches ...sushi type food ...all sorts ....

So you could go into the shop at 4pm and pay say £4.50 for a sushi pack of food.
They close at approx 4.30pm and chuck all the food packages from the fridges into green bins bags and out it outside the shop as waste !

First I used to see street people / homeless take sandwich packs from the bags...
Now I see people turn up on push bikes and pick thou the bags...

Now I'm tempted to pick out the packaged cakes etc and eat them on the train on the way home.
Nowt wrong with the food.
At 4pm it's good enough to sell ....at 5pm it's not ?

Would you ?
I earn a very good salary, what if someone from the office saw me ? Not sure how I would feel ...don't care I suppose.

Yes and this is just one shop in the chain of EATS and one of many chains.

Why can't they donate the food to shelters or charity ?

Such a waste.
