I don't mean something nasty, or even a long speech they engineered... I just mean a small comment that will always stay with you, for whatever reason it was. Because they were a special someone or because the words had real meaning?
About 4yrs ago, me and my ex split and I remember being rather upset and chatting to everyone under the sun about it (I'm 100% fine now and love my life) but I remember saying to my 72yr old Grandad one day that I'd bumped into my ex and his new partner etc etc and as I prepared myself for some words of wisdom, my Grandad said "F*ck him. He doesn't want one of us, we don't want him".... Not really spiritual or wisdomous but I never forgot it and I often use it myself when I'm in a similar situation.
i remember somene telling me that you 'catch more flies with honey than vinegar', that's always stuck with me
haven't seen you about for ages - you ok?
Also my dad always said to me "You don't give to receive" and "Blood is thicker than water". I think these have definately stuck. My brother and sister are probably my two best friends. I'd never let either of them feel left out or down because I went off with friends instead. Plus I can always hear my dad saying "you don't give to receive" in my head when I do something nice for someone and get nothing back.

Do you know the answer?
Have you ever had someone say something that stuck?
