I keep getting unwanted premium rate text sent to my mobile. I've sent STOP to the company but they still keep sending me texts. These cost 1.50 a time and are sent once every day. I contacted O2 my service provider but don't really seem bothered to sort this out. I can't change my number as this would be a major inconvenience. But if i have to then I will, but only as a last resort.

If O2 don't seem to bothered, try telling them that you are considering changing service provider in order to sort it out. I imagine they will then become all too keen to help!

Is there a service provider that does have a good solution to this?

Virgin told me they can't put a universal block on incoming premium texts, I have to reply with STOP to each one.

If there is a service provider that will block them all for me, I might change to that service provider.

Jason, I had the exact same problem with o2 as well. They didn't do anything about it, even after my several calls and emails. In the end I had to change my number as it was costing me far to much. But as Ninja suggested, I would definitely try the changing service one, which I didn't. You never know.....

reply and tell them u are 12 years old, that should scare them off

Hi Jason, had this problem myself. Found out about a website which stops most nuisance calls on your home phone and you can also put in your mobile number as well. Don't get the text messages anymore and most ot the cold calls I used to get have stopped, they actually say on the site they can not gaurantee to stop all calls coming through, but it is a vast improvement.

Hope this helps, just follow the steps on line

Forgot to say at the bottom of the page referring to mobiles, it actually say's that it will not stop sms messages, but it does, so it is well worth 5 mins to register
