As a frontline Commando......
....in the inch war myself, i do have a certain amount of sympathy for the overwieght, I have a constant battle and live in the GYM etc to hold the lbs at bay, and yes, agree that you have to play the deck you've got and if you are one of those that puts on weight, you have to find ways to manage that, anyway I suppose I'm struggling to understand how you could let it get this bad:

I mean at some point wouldn't we all say enough is enough and do something? In my case I may be thinking ok so maybe I'll need some bigger trousers unless I reverse the trend but would you let lt get to the stage where you can't walk? and enter that vicious circle of eating thousands of Calories and barely moving? Your thoughts please

after all, once you're bed-bound.. someone else must be bringing the junk to you.

There are a number of reasons people get very overweight.
One of the most interesting is appetite malfunctions.
A bit like running a car with a defective fuel guage - some people feel ravenously hungry - unless they eat all the time.
I know someone with the opposite problem who will forget to eat for long periods of time unless reminded.
I can't quite iunderstand how it's possible to get to this size and stay there even with constant eating - I know that Sumo wrestlers try desperately to keep their weight up but that it tends to fall down when they are out of "training".
I guess some people just have a "perfect storm" of phyisical, biochemical and psycological issues that result in these cases

Thanks all, Jake, i think this the condition you refer to is Prada-Willi:

That's certainly one but I think there are many disorders

There's even some evidence of a "fat virus" but I'm not sure how mainstream that idea is
These are certainly sad cases - thankfully rare enough to be news worthy
