Hi people, any tips on using these things please. Moved in last year and still not got to grips with creating a successful fire. Still need to stand over it and adjust all the nobs, shake the grate, add more kindling etc. have three air vents, one at the bottom to pull out then another one that turns then one at the top from left to right. I prefer to use the bricks that you burn with the paper on them but not sure if I should be using them on this but they are so easy. Any tips would be very much appreciated. Thank you

This works for us. leave a layer of ash in the grate add a layer of scrunched up newspaper and a layer of kindling open your vents and light the paper close the door, when the paper is well alight half close your bottom vent. when the kindling is alight slightly close your top vent and add a medium size log. once that is burning and you have embers just keep adding logs or if you have a multi fuel stove add coal. control the flames by adjusting the top vent. hope that helps they really are great when you get the hang we have cut our gas use by over 50% in the last year and our house is never cold!!
