Just saw some of it on the news...absolute madness.

Anarchists.. don't you just hate them..

I'm also wondering what's happening, i grew up there and my dad still lives in Bridge of Allan.  I've tried calling him but no reply at the moment.  If I hear anything I will let you know.

These mindless scum don't mind taking their benefits from the system they claim to hate, do they? Machine gun the %$%ards

mother in law lives 2 miles from perth and they say that a lot of roads are blocked off and police in unmarked people carriers are parked everywhere in bridge of earn waiting for any call ups. Her brother who lives in edinburgh centre has moved out his house and gone over to holland to visit relatives for a week just to avoid this week as it is so chaotic
My daughter lives in a village a few miles West of Perth and says all the local roads were closed off and the whole area is swamped with police vehicles.
In my view the problems weren't caused by genuine protesters but by the usual mindless kids whose only interest in life is to create chaos and disruption while milking the state benefit system for all they can get.  Some severe corporal punishment needed.

Inconvenient is how it is.  All the banks are closed.  All the shops were closed yesterday, but I think it was due to panic rather than any actual activity in the town centre.  The Eco-Village is at present under seige by Police and private security.  The helicopters are flying over us constantly day & night.  Yesterday was only bad due to the Police trying to keep as many people out of Stirling and stop as many people as they could getting up to Auchterarder.

Every night when I leave work here at the Council I cut through the Train Station to get to my house, but was quite abruptly told last night by a private security guard that I would not be doing that this week as that access was now closed for the rest of the week.

Have to say that the only problems I have come up against have been from the authorities rather than any protesters.  I ws under the impression we still lived in a democracy but now I'm not so sure, only when it suits the powers that be I think.

Still waiting to see what will happen before it is all over though.  I'm sure there are frustrations brewing within the anti-G8 camp, so as the song goes, there may be trouble ahead!
