Angina or inflamation of the heart wall ??

Hi, im under the hospital with having pain in the left side of mt chest, top of left boob ( im a female of 44 ) that comes and goes, sometimes its worse than other times, when its bad the pain can go down the left side of my neck and makes my arm feel heavy, if i try to lift my arm while i have the pain it makes it worse, ive had this now for many years but seems to be more frequent and slightly worse, also it feels like there is someone sitting on my chest but that can happen at a different time than the pain, also i have bad palpatations and what feels like my heart misses a beat and then goes back into rhythm, sometimes i feel light headed when this happens. Ive warn a 24 hr monitor, also been wired up and been on a treadmill, just waiting for results, the hospital at the moment say it could be either angina or inflamation of the heart wall and have prescribed TNT spray, cholestrol lowering tablets also asprin just to be safe before i get my results. Anyone have any ideas what i may be? Thank you

Angina is not a disease and there are no characteristic blood tests or ECG changes that can diagnose this conditon and it is diagnosed on the description of the pain that the patient gives.

Inflammation of the heart wall is myocarditis and can indeed be diagnosed by blood tests, ECG changes and ultrasound. There are many causes of myocarditis.

tamirra.................I really can only offer a guess, based on your description and I would have to go for angina. There are certain things going for this diagnosis, but other aspects are not typical.

You need to wait for the results of the tests.

No thats fine Sqad, its just that ive had this for many many years now, and im worried if i should get stressed im likely to have a stroke or heart attack.
