Arranging order of images on a usb stick.

I am to give a talk with images which will be projected onto a screen from a computer. I have all the pictures on a usb stick and I am trying to put them in the sequence I require, but whatever I do they re-locate themselves. The options available under 'view' are ; name,size,modified,show in groups,auto arrange, and align to grid. How, if I drag them into position, can I get them to stay put please?

Why not put them all in a presentation package like Powerpoint, that will control the order they are displayed.

And if you have not got Microsoft Office then OpenOffice is free and has a "powerpoint" like product.
