can i play Half Life 2 on my apple Powerbook?

because it's written for processors that appear in non-apple computers, i.e. ones that probably run windows. I also believe that the steam software used is windows-only.

and afaik, there is no mac port for the game yet. never looked into it though.

soon.. being in about a year. for the first one. it'll still require goonerboy changing powerbooks ;)

margeB: it is similar to the first one. graphics far better though. dont go near it without 512 ram, 128mb graphics and ~3ghz processor. ideally 1gb+ ram, 256+ graphics. not quite as beasty as doom3, but still requires a fair bit for really smooth gameplay.

One time I uninstalled it, threw the case under the floorboards so I wouldn't play it. So I got a serial crack when it moved over to Steam, just so I could get it going. Most games that defeat this say 'invalid code entered.' Not HL! They took me on the trip round black Mesa, then the security guy came up and had a heart attack as he went to open my door...really freaked me out.
