How are speeding tickets sent through the post? Normal or speacial delivery?

Normal Post - my 80 year old Dad has just received a speeding fine - 38 m.p.h in a 30 m.p.h speed limit.
They actually offered him to go on a course for £90.00 which if you do, the 3 penalty points are waived but you still pay the £60.00 fine.

thanks, expecting one through, recieved a special delivery letter and can't get it until tomorrow so a little nervous, but hey, through normal post rules that out then, thanks....:-)

When I got a speeding ticket from Humberside Police a couple of years ago, I opted for the one day course which cost me £60, the same as the fine and I didn't have to pay the fine as well, so it was worth it to escape the 3 penalty points

The only constabulary that use recorded delivery is Dumfries & Galoway. (That i am aware of).

Note 'special delivery' and 'recorded delivery' are not the same.

Expect more NIPs to be served by recorded delivery due to the proposed postal srikes as you cannot rebut that they were not received within 14 days.
