For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.My Dad bought one for Mum on her 40th birthday. That doesn't go with any of the traditions I know, but she was still gobsmacked and delighted. And it's a gorgeous ring and means the world to her.
Personally I would say to wait a litle longer than 3 months, and to surprise her. Let the conversation on it die down, and maybe get one for her next big birthday or your 1st anniversary. But don't tell her - you must know her well enough by now to know what she'd want! :-)
PS - Am VERY jealous!
