Transferring an e-mail to a folder?

Have Windows xp, want to transfer an e-mail to a folder.The folder is already set up , and have done this before, but today my mind is a complete blank as to how.Please help if you can . Thank you.brenda.

From the menu > file > save as, then navigate to the folder you set up

I just left click on the email in the list and drag it across to the folder

edit>move to folder> local folders> select >ok

On my hotmail page, at the inbox, there are none of those headings at all, how do i create folders and then add emails to them??

Thank you for all the help, have managed to save an e-mail containing a photo of the most important thing in my life-- you've guessed my little dog Honey .I am so grateful that when I see you in the pub the drinks are on me.
