the free version of AVG

HOW DO I turn off my AVGanti virus software i cant find anywhere to disable it, just to install software as you need to do on some things when installing certain programmes

Right click on the Icon for it down by the clock and select disable (or words to that effect)

1st thing i tried only options are update and open avg user interface, i ben in options preferences settings and all but cant seem to find anywhere where it says disable, or summat to that affect.

To disable the Resident Shield, please:

* open AVG User Interface
* double-click on the Resident Shield
* un-tick the option "Resident Shield active"
* save the changes

Please do not forget to activate the Resident Shield again once you performed the tasks requiring its deactivation.
