Although the light is on, as usual, on the sealed plug the box has stopped working .

Normally a red light appears on the front of the box which turns to green when the remote is used.but no light or any sign of life now appears.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you LITTLEGRIFF for your helpful reply.
Hi, have you checked that the leads are all pushed in properly. The plug can't have fused if the light is still on, on the plug. Doesn't sound like the power is getting through to the unit.
Switch it off at the wall and back on again. Mine often freezes up like that.
When switching off, leave it for a full five minutes before switching it back on. I have had to do this on more than one make of set-top box when they occasionally lock up. It lets residual voltages inside the unit die away completely before re-booting.

Thanks for your help people.
I have already tried your suggestions but it still does not work.
Thanks again for your help.

I have not done anything to the plug as I have already stated that the light comes on and it is a sealed unit.
Again, my thanks.
Usually this is a defective power supply. I have repaired several set top boxes recently with bulging leaky capacitors in this area.
