No, I would encourage an "independent" inquiry and then ignore the findings.

Yes I would......if there were less people cheating the system maybe those genuinely in need could get more money....

What is it that stops you from reporting them, would you worry they might find out it was you or some other reason?

most are mates and they know what i think, but i also understand in a way its not easy living on benefits and none of these sre raking it in, they just seem to survive by claiming and doing the odd job cash in hand here and ther, i feel sorry for them really they don;t exactly have fufilling lives

The type of fraud I mean is someone who has lots of money but still claiming benefits.
Never -but I would encourage the many more people who are entitled to claim everything they should.Despite the propaganda many billions of pounds is left unclaimed due to ignorance and fear.It costs more money trying to combat fraud than is gained by recovery and only serves to put genuine people off.Fraudsters will find a way around the system of course it is wrong but the waste of money in encouraging people to spy on each other and see people on benefits as rats is equally wrong.
I agree that anyone raking it in should be exposed, we`ve seen mayors and town councillors etc doing it. But what is not made clear is how hard it can be to get what you are entitled to, I have spent 3 months trying for a litle help as I am physically disabled and visually impaaired and the replies have been laughable ( ie I do no think you have trouble seeing in unfamiliar places !!) my tenacity has paid off to a point and have been awardred lowest rate but was hard work it will help towards my winter bills I hope
mamyalynne welldone for finally getting what you are clearly entitled to -thats my point why spend more money on discouraging /suspecting/people what they are entitled to -thats why billions is left unclaimed not everyone is aware of and/or has your perseverence
thanks for that hindle I thought at one point if they did not believe me, then I must be wrong but as you say its up to us to prove it, it can be hard work
My wife is disabled and as you say it is continuous relentless work both getting and retaining what you are entitled to and yes at times you think your'e going mad dealing with "experts" who know less than you and work under the assumption that you are trying to defraud them(protecting public monies-ie making it as hard as possible and securing their own positions) all this while facing constant propaganda about benefit fraud WE ARE ENTITLED TO IT it is not charity somebody else's monies we have paid for this Regards Mamyalynne
missprim,
There are thousands cheating the benefit system, but not all from the UK, most are immigrants from all over the the world who jump on are soft government approach to welcome all and and sundry to milk us British tax payers to pay for them.
Yes I would, if we could get rid of all the dodgers then maybe the people who genuinely need it could get a decent amount to live on. I am also sick of seeing benefits being used to buy fags, booze and lottery tickets and running about in taxis everywhere. Maybe if they had to earn the money they would think more about what they are spending it on.
ohhhhhhhhhhhhh thats a hard one isnt it i will be honest may years ago when my kids where small youngest was only 8 months old i had come out of a 7 year violent relasionship ex had left me in a lot of debt i claimed income support for 6 months and worked two cash in hand cleaning jobs to get myself straight before i got a full time job.
My neighbour is suppose to have a bad back someone came out to assess him he gets the highest diability benifit but after they left put up a shed!!!!!! wanted to say something but am hardly in a position to when i did my cash in hamd job all them years ago
